As part of a wider programme to upgrade teaching and meeting spaces at the University of London, TK Team worked alongside project partners Hewshott, GV AV and Arcadia to deliver bespoke acoustic solutions across two phases at the historic Senate House building.
With a variety of room layouts and architectural features to consider, the project required a tailored approach to acoustic treatment, ensuring each space could support modern teaching, meetings and collaboration.
Using its HUSH Acoustic System, TK Team designed and manufactured bespoke wall and ceiling treatments to improve speech intelligibility and AV performance while complementing the building's distinctive interiors.
Working closely with the University's Estates and AV teams, TK Team adapted its solutions to meet the technical and aesthetic requirements of each space.
Working closely with the University of London's Estates and AV teams, alongside GV AV and Arcadia, TK Team designed and manufactured bespoke HUSH acoustic panels to address the requirements of each space.
The solution included:
Wall and ceiling treatments to reduce reverberation and improve speech clarity.
Custom screen-printed finishes to complement existing interior colour schemes.
Integrated ceiling panels designed to discreetly accommodate Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2 microphones.
TK Team's manufacturing capabilities allowed the panels to be adapted to individual room layouts and technical requirements, bringing together acoustic performance, AV integration and interior design.

The completed spaces provide improved speech intelligibility and a more effective environment for teaching, meetings and collaboration.
By combining tailored acoustic treatments with discreet AV integration, the project has delivered spaces that meet modern teaching requirements while respecting the character of Senate House.
The project demonstrates how early collaboration between acoustic specialists, AV integrators and project teams can help overcome complex room challenges and deliver a more cohesive solution.
